1. Safety comes first
KONBIT should feel like a yard where you are known and protected. Nothing about connecting with the diaspora is worth your safety, so reporting is always available and always confidential.
2. How to report
You can report from anywhere in the app:
- Tap the menu on a post, comment or Woulo clip and choose Report.
- Open a profile and report the account.
- Report a conversation from inside your direct messages.
- Write to safety@konbitapp.com when something needs urgent attention.
3. What happens after you report
Reports go straight to the moderation queue. The person you reported is never told who reported them. We do not require you to interact with them again.
For the full review process and possible actions, see: Content Moderation & Enforcement.
4. Tools you control
You do not have to wait for us to act:
- Block an account so it cannot message you and its posts leave your feed.
- Choose who can message, mention or tag you in Settings.
- Mute words and phrases you never want to see.
- Make your followers and following lists private.
5. Emergencies
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. KONBIT cannot dispatch help.
Then report the content to us so we can preserve it, remove it and cooperate with a lawful investigation.
6. Child safety
KONBIT is for people 13 and older, and we have zero tolerance for content that sexualises or endangers a child.
We remove such content, close the account permanently and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other authorities as required.
7. Self-harm and crisis
If you are struggling, you are not alone and reaching out is not weakness. Tell someone you trust or contact a crisis line in your country. In the United States you can call or text 988. When we see someone in crisis on KONBIT, we share support resources rather than punish them.
8. Protecting yourself
Habits that keep diaspora accounts safe:
- Never share money-transfer details, codes or documents in a direct message.
- Be careful with photos that reveal a home, school or workplace in Haiti.
- Treat anyone rushing you into a payment or a relationship as a warning sign.
- Use a strong, unique password and keep your email account secure.
