KONBIT Community Guidelines

Konbit is built on the Haitian tradition of unity, cooperation, and mutual support. Our mission is to create a safe, respectful, and welcoming space where Haitians from around the world can connect, share ideas, celebrate culture, and engage in meaningful conversations.

Every member plays a role in building this community. By using Konbit, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines.

1. Respect Everyone

We encourage

We do not allow

  • Hate speech
  • Racism or discrimination
  • Harassment or bullying
  • Personal attacks
  • Threats of violence
  • Encouraging self-harm

Respect people regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, or political beliefs.

2. No Violence or Criminal Activity

We encourage

  • Educational discussions about crime, public safety, or current events shared responsibly

We do not allow

  • Supporting gangs or organized criminal groups
  • Recruiting for criminal organizations
  • Showing graphic violence for entertainment
  • Encouraging murder or assault
  • Selling illegal weapons or drugs

3. Protect Children

We do not allow

  • Child exploitation
  • Sexual content involving minors
  • Grooming
  • Sharing images of children without appropriate permission when privacy may be compromised
  • Human trafficking content

Violations will result in immediate account removal and may be reported to law enforcement.

4. Share Accurate Information

  • Responsible health guidance
  • Fact-based civic information

We do not allow

  • False news
  • Dangerous medical misinformation
  • Election misinformation
  • Fraudulent financial advice
  • Fake emergency alerts

5. Be Authentic

We encourage

  • Parody accounts clearly labeled as parody

We do not allow

  • Pretending to be someone else
  • Creating fake accounts to deceive others
  • Impersonating public figures
  • Purchasing fake followers or engagement
  • Manipulating conversations using bots

6. Respect Privacy

We do not allow

  • Home addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Government IDs
  • Financial information
  • Private conversations
  • Medical records
  • Doxxing

7. Keep Content Appropriate

We encourage

  • Educational, artistic, historical, or journalistic content with appropriate context

We do not allow

  • Excessive nudity
  • Pornographic material
  • Graphic gore
  • Explicit sexual acts
  • Extreme violence
  • Shock content

8. No Spam or Scams

We encourage

  • Honest marketing by businesses and creators

We do not allow

  • Repetitive messages
  • Fake giveaways
  • Pyramid schemes
  • Phishing attempts
  • Cryptocurrency scams
  • Investment fraud
  • Fake charity campaigns

9. Respect Intellectual Property

We encourage

  • Content you own or have permission to share
  • Crediting creators whenever possible

We do not allow

  • Uploading copyrighted movies
  • Reposting copyrighted music without permission
  • Stealing artwork
  • Using another creator's work as your own

10. Celebrate Haitian Culture

  • French and English discussions
  • Music, art, and food
  • Local businesses and community events
  • Education and civic engagement

We do not allow

  • Cultural pride becoming hatred toward others

Healthy debate is welcome, but cultural pride should never become hatred toward others.

11. Political Discussions

We encourage

  • Respectful debate
  • Fact-based claims
  • Political disagreement

We do not allow

  • Threats or calls for violence
  • Targeting people based on identity
  • Political harassment

Politics affect every community. Political disagreement is acceptable; political harassment is not.

12. Reporting Violations

We do not allow

  • Engaging with harassment

If you see content that violates these guidelines, report the post, report the user, or block abusive accounts. Our moderation team reviews reports as quickly as possible.

13. Enforcement

Depending on the severity, KONBIT may remove content, limit features, issue warnings, suspend accounts temporarily, permanently ban accounts, or report illegal activity to authorities. Repeated violations may result in permanent removal.

14. Freedom of Expression

Freedom of expression does not include the right to harm others. Our goal is to balance open discussion with community safety.
