1. Respect for creators

Haitian artists, photographers, musicians and writers built much of the culture KONBIT exists to celebrate. Their work is theirs. Do not upload content you do not own or have permission to share.

KONBIT responds to valid copyright complaints under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and comparable laws elsewhere.

2. What we remove

We remove material when a rights holder shows us that it infringes, including:

Photos, videos or Woulo clips reposted without the owner's permission.
Music or audio used without a licence from the rights holder.
Text, artwork or designs copied from someone else's work.
Logos, brand names or trademarks used to mislead people.

3. How to send a takedown notice

Send a written notice with all of the following. Missing pieces slow us down or make the notice invalid:

Your full name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
A clear description of the work you own.
The exact link to each post, comment, Woulo clip or profile you are reporting.
A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, under penalty of perjury.
Your physical or electronic signature.

You may also mail a notice to KONBITAPP LLC, Copyright Agent, Massachusetts, USA. We normally act on complete notices within 10 business days.

4. If your content was removed by mistake

You can send a counter-notice if you believe your content was removed in error or that your use was lawful. Include:

Your name, address, phone number and email address.
The link to the content that was removed.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification.
Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where you live, or the District of Massachusetts if you live outside the United States.

We forward valid counter-notices to the person who complained. If they do not file a court action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore your content.

5. Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly infringe are suspended and may be permanently closed. Copyright removals count toward the strikes described in our enforcement rules.

6. Music, duets and reposts

Adding your own voice, dance or commentary to someone else's video does not transfer ownership to you. Credit is welcome, but credit is not a licence.

Konbit Camera lets you record your own audio. Use it, or use music you have the right to use, and keep your posts safe from removal.

7. Misuse of this process

Filing a false claim to silence someone is a serious matter. Abusive or bad-faith notices are rejected and can cost you your account, plus liability under the law.
