1. How we review content
KONBIT is moderated by people, supported by automated screening. Our reviewers are trained on Haitian language and context so that Kreyòl, Kreyòl-English mixing and cultural references are not misread as abuse.
Every report enters a moderation queue. Reviewers judge content against the Community Guidelines and the Terms of Service — not personal opinion.
2. What triggers a review
A post, comment, message, Woulo clip or profile is reviewed when:
- A member reports it.
- Automated screening flags an upload as possibly explicit or unsafe.
- A muted-word or profanity filter catches prohibited language.
- A rights holder sends a copyright complaint.
- We receive a lawful request from a court or authority.
3. Automated screening
Images and videos are screened for nudity and sexual content before they publish, and prohibited words are blocked as you type. Automated systems make mistakes, so anything they flag as borderline is held for a human to look at.
No decision that closes an account is made by software alone. A person reviews it first.
4. Actions we can take
Depending on what happened and how serious it is, we may:
- Leave the content up and close the report.
- Add a sensitive-content screen over media.
- Remove the post, comment, message or clip.
- Limit reach, so content is not amplified in Explore or the feed.
- Issue a strike against the account.
- Suspend or permanently close the account.
5. Strikes and suspension
We use a three-strike system for guideline violations:
- First strike — a warning and removal of the content.
- Second strike — a warning plus temporary limits on posting.
- Third strike — the account is automatically suspended.
Strikes stay on record while they are active. Serious violations skip the ladder and lead straight to suspension.
6. Immediate removal
Some content is removed on sight and the account is closed:
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form.
- Credible threats of violence or incitement to violence.
- Non-consensual intimate images.
- Coordinated campaigns of harassment or dangerous misinformation.
7. Notice and transparency
When we act on your content we tell you what was removed and which rule it broke, unless the law prevents us from doing so.
Every enforcement decision can be challenged: Appeals Policy.
8. Legal and government requests
We review each legal request for validity and scope, disclose only what the law requires, and tell affected members when we are permitted to.
